Castor oil for face

Castor (or ricin) oil has many benefits for facial skin. Many women say that they tried many oils and cosmetics, but chose castor extract. In this article we will try to understand why they made such a choice.

Pure castor oil is obtained from the seeds of a bean plant, which used to be called "Palm Cristé" (literally translated as "the palm of Christ"). It is produced by cold pressing of seeds and clarification of oil under the influence of high temperature. Every year, 300-600 million kilograms of ricin oil is produced in the world for various purposes.

It has a unique composition: almost 90 percent of the fatty acids it contains are a rare, dense and concentrated compound called ricinoleic acid.

Note that most castor extract sold in stores is derived from inorganic seeds that have been sprayed with pesticides, extracted with a solvent (usually hexane), deodorized, or otherwise chemically treated.

This harms the beneficial nutritional properties of the extract and can even contaminate it with toxic substances. Make sure you use pure, cold-pressed, hexane-free oil. Also choose a container with a drip dispenser to keep the oil clean.
